"It was a privilege to be taught by Ms Kalpana from Secondary 3 till 4. In secondary school, although Mathematics was the subject I had the most interest in, I was gradually getting weaker and weaker. I started losing focus and motivation as time went by and eventually I found myself doing poorly for my Secondary 2 EYE. I had previously wanted to pursue Additional Mathematics, but I could only take it as a Normal Academic subject instead of an Express subject, as a result of my poor results. During that period of time, I stumbled upon Ms Kalpana’s tuition centre. Starting off, I really enjoyed her direct 1-to-1 approach with her students during lessons. It was clear to me that she was able to deliver a personal approach in which her students were able to grasp the topics she was teaching them. Moreover, despite being frequently tardy for her lessons she was still considerate to allow me to extend the duration of our lessons, despite the packed schedule she has. Her lessons captivated me and developed a greater interest in Mathematics. She created a safe and welcoming environment in which her students felt comfortable asking her questions anytime, even outside lessons. Her lessons were so incredibly fruitful that I recommended it to my friend who was similarly struggling. This not only allowed me to advance to Express Additional Mathematics just in time, but perform well for my O-Level examinations the following year as well.
